What is a Concussion?

A concussion is a mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) that disrupts how the brain processes
and communicates information. While most concussions are not life-threatening, they can
cause lingering symptoms that interfere with daily life if not properly treated.

Post Concussion Syndrome (PCS): The persistence of concussion symptoms beyond the normal recovery period, often lasting for weeks or months or even years. Symptoms can include physical, coginitve and emotional issues.

Our Functional Neurology Approach

At Nova Neuro Brain Center, we focus on restoring brain function, not just managing
symptoms. Our comprehensive neurological evaluation pinpoints which systems — vision,
balance, cognitive processing, autonomic regulation — have been disrupted. We then create
a personalized plan to retrain and rebalance those systems.

How Long Does Recovery Take?

When to Seek Concussion Care

If you’ve experienced a concussion and are still dealing with symptoms after a few days,
don’t wait. Early intervention often leads to better outcomes. Even if your injury happened
weeks or months ago, functional neurology can still help restore lost function.
